The Role: Working for a Generator Hire / Pump Hire company, you will be working as a Pump Fitter / Service Engineer – workshop based in the North West area. You will have previous engineering experience working on a range of Mechanical Diesel Plant, equipment including Water Pumps, Generators and Construction Equipment etc. The salary for this position is £25 - 27k per annum, plus overtime at x1.5. You'll be someone who is familiar with working on Diesel Engines including strip down and rebuilds, previous experience working on water pumps would be an advantage. You will be working for a progressive rental supplier of new and used plant equipment who are looking for a workshop plant engineer to join their busy but friendly workshop near Nantwich. Duties for the Workshop Plant Engineer will include: Carrying out preventative maintenance to construction plant equipment including Kubota, Komatsu, Thwaites and JCB Routine servicing and repair of plant equipment including diesel engines, hydraulic systems and vehicle electrics Preparing new machinery before the fleet is hired out to customers Diagnosing faults using fault finding equipment or computer based software packages eg CANBUS. Supporting customers with solutions in a timely and effective manner To be successful within this role, you will have previously worked in positions such as a mobile plant fitter, plant engineer, plant mechanic, service technician, service fitter, service engineer or heavy plant fitter related to the construction industry. It would be advantageous if you held an NVQ or City and Guilds qualification in plant maintenance or equivalent. However, you will also be considered if you have time served experience.
