Site / Senior Engineer - Water Infrastructure Works Your new company A well-established company based in Co. Derry with over 40 years construction and Civil engineering experience are currently seeking a Site Engineer to be based across sites in Ireland for a major water infrastructure framework. Your new role This is an excellent opportunity to work with a top employer on a stable Irish based framework with works just across the border - commutable distances from South Down / Armagh areas. You will supervise ongoing civils schemes including water treatment works, pumping stations and new pipe works. Managing small crews of labour, you will be tasked with setting out duties and record keeping and monitoring H&S on site. Covering multiple sites throughout, you will need to be a technically minded individual who is has site experience and can use setting out equipment such as GPS and Totalstation. Your new role The company are now seeking an experienced Site / Senior Site Engineer to join the team in a multi-site role on long-term projects based entirely at home in Northern Ireland with the first project a £11m development based in Derry. What you'll need to succeed As a successful Senior Engineer, you will have multiple years' experience in a similar role, with a competency in setting out with the use of Leica robotic total station. You will be experienced in supporting and aiding the site manager in supervising / giving direction and monitoring quality on site alongside the ability to co-ordinate architects, civil and structural and M&E drawings. This role will see a Senior Engineer also take on management duties with a view to move into a Site Management role as the project progresses. You must have a CSR / CSCS / SMSTS or SSSTS card to be considered for the role with a CSR Supervisor's card preferable. As a Site Engineer, you will directly report to the Senior Engineer and will work collaboratively with the site team to drive standards and ensure the project is finished on time and within budget. The succesful candidate will be strong on formwork and open to working away from home. Key Responsibilities: - Setting out and checking work as required. - Working closely with subcontractors which involves keeping a daily diary of levels of work for each subcontractor. - Producing QA reports. - Planning steel reinforcements. - Making Concrete cubes and recording the location as well as testing and analysing results. - Going to weekly management meetings and liaising with other members of staff such as Site Clerks, Quantity Surveyors, and Health Safety Officers. The ideal candidate will have: - 3 years’ experience working as a Site Engineer. - Engineering Degree/Diploma Required. - Confident using Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project. - Excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong communication skills. - Process-driven and solutions focused. - Ability to work to tight deadlines. - Ability to work well in a team.
