Your Role & Responsibilities Working directly alongside civil engineers, shuttering joiners, and groundworks gangs, you will be responsible for the placement and high-grade finishing of poured concrete: Pour Placement & Spreading: Receiving, placing, and raking ready-mix concrete into place across ground slabs, retaining walls, suspended decks, footings, and external aprons. Compaction & Levelling: Operating poker vibrators, screed rails, and tamping beams to compact concrete, eliminate air voids, and strike off strictly to finished floor levels. Surface Finishing: Executing hand troweling, bull floating, brush finishing, and operating power floats (pan and blades) to produce smooth, hard-wearing, level slab surfaces. Curing & Jointing: Applying liquid curing membranes, frost blankets, and cutting expansion/contraction control joints to drawing specifications post-pour. Site Hygiene & Tool Care: Keeping pour areas tidy, washing down pumps, skips, and finishing equipment thoroughly after each pour, and adhering to strict site safety rules. What We're Looking For To satisfy site entry and safety regulations, applicants must possess: CSCS Card: A valid Blue (Skilled Worker) or Gold (Advanced Craft / NVQ in Concrete Operations or Construction Occupations) CSCS card is strictly mandatory . Experience: Proven, hands-on background in concrete placing, tamping, hand finishing, and power float operations on commercial or civil sites. Tools & PPE: Full professional hand tools (finishing trowels, floats, rakes, boots) and standard 5-point PPE (including waterproof gear for pours). Reliability & Flexibility: The willingness to work flexibly to complete pours safely around curing times and delivery schedules. Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.
