This position would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor seeking greater responsibility, project ownership, and clear opportunities for long-term career development. Key Responsibilities Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of multiple live projects from pre-construction through to final account. Oversee up to 2-3 projects simultaneously, ensuring strong commercial performance throughout. Prepare and present accurate cost reports, valuations, forecasts, and financial updates. Procure, appoint, and manage subcontractor packages. Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to maximise profitability. Administer contracts and ensure compliance with commercial procedures. Assess and process subcontractor applications and payments. Manage variations, change control, and risk throughout the project lifecycle. Liaise with project teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery. Report directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor on project progress and commercial performance. Candidate Requirements Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential, commercial, or main contracting construction sectors. Proven experience managing the commercial aspects of new build construction projects. Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement, valuations, and contract administration. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. Commercially astute with strong attention to detail. Full UK driving licence preferred. Able to commute to Wakefield and travel to project sites when required. Ambitious and motivated to develop into a more senior commercial position. Projects New build care home developments. Project values typically ranging from 8 million to 15 million . UK-wide project portfolio with travel primarily to London approximately twice per month.
