Assistant Estimator

Job Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Estimator to join a growing, family-run construction business due to continued expansion and a healthy pipeline of work.

With an annual turnover of approximately 8 million, the company delivers a broad range of construction projects valued between 50,000 and 3 million across general building and civil engineering sectors.

This role is ideal for someone with some prior estimating experience who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and well-established contractor environment.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience within an estimating or construction-related role is essential
  General building and/or civil engineering experience advantageous
  Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
  Good numerical and analytical skills
  Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
  Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
  Full UK driving licence essential
  Able to work from the office full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing tenders, estimates and cost plans
  Review drawings, specifications and project documentation
  Produce take-offs and quantify materials and labour requirements
  Obtain and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations
  Support senior estimators with pricing and tender submissions
  Maintain estimating records and documentation
  Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors
  Assist with site visits and project handovers where required
