Role : Agent Duration : Long Term Rate (Umbrella): £500 - £550 Location : Multiple across Calvert Area A leading civil engineering contractor delivering works on a major UK infrastructure project is seeking an experienced Agent to join the team on a freelance/contract basis in Buckinghamshire. This role offers the opportunity to lead the delivery of complex civil engineering works on a high-profile infrastructure scheme, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution. The Role Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for managing site operations, engineering teams, subcontractors, and project delivery activities across a designated section of works. Key responsibilities include: Managing the safe and successful delivery of civil engineering works from construction through to completion Leading site teams including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors Coordinating labour, plant, materials, and resources to achieve programme targets Ensuring works are delivered in line with quality, safety, environmental, and contractual requirements Monitoring project progress, costs, and productivity Reviewing and implementing construction methodologies and temporary works requirements Managing short-term planning, reporting, and site documentation Identifying and resolving technical and operational challenges on site Building strong working relationships with internal teams, stakeholders, and subcontractors Supporting commercial activities including forecasting, change management, and cost control The successful candidate will have: HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline Proven experience working as an Agent or Senior Sub Agent on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects Strong background in civil engineering disciplines such as earthworks, drainage, utilities, highways, or heavy structures Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams Good understanding of NEC contracts and construction delivery processes A valid CSCS card (Black - Manager preferred) SMSTS certification Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle This Client is also exploring multiple roles within Buckinghamshire, including Sub Agents, Section Engineers, and Site Engineers. Rubber Duck Excavator Operator Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire Red Sky Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Rubber Duck (Wheeled Excavator) Operator to join a major civil engineering and utilities project in Huntingdon . This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering consistent work through to October 2026 . Location: Huntingdon, PE28 Area Start Date: Immediate Duration: Until October 2026 Hours: 07 30 (45 hours per week) Rate: £28.00 per hour Key Responsibilities Safe operation of Rubber Duck (Wheeled Excavators) on a live infrastructure project. Carrying out excavations for utility and pipeline installations. Supporting the installation of pipework and associated civil engineering activities. Working alongside groundworkers, pipe layers and site supervisors to deliver works safely and efficiently. Undertaking lifting duties in accordance with approved lift plans and site procedures. Assisting with shoring operations and trench support systems. Conducting daily plant checks and reporting any defects or maintenance requirements. Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance at all times. Requirements Valid CPCS or NPORS Blue Card for Excavator Operation. Lifting Operations endorsement/competency. Valid Safety Critical Medical (essential). Demonstrable experience operating wheeled excavators on utilities, water, highways or civil engineering projects. Experience working around live services, pipe installation and excavation activities. Ability to work effectively within a site team and follow site-specific procedures.
