About the Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD / BIM Technician to join a growing team delivering complex mechanical and low-carbon energy projects across the UK. Working on a range of innovative schemes including energy centres, district heating networks, heat pump installations, packaged plantrooms and prefabricated pipework systems , you will play a key role in developing coordinated BIM models, construction drawings and fabrication information from concept through to installation. Key Responsibilities BIM & CAD Modelling Produce detailed 2D and 3D models using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD. Develop coordinated mechanical plantroom, energy centre and pipework models. Ensure designs are practical, buildable and suitable for manufacture and installation. Incorporate survey and point cloud information where required. Support project teams during technical design reviews. Project Delivery Produce drawing packages through design, construction and as-built stages. Manage revisions and updates following design changes and site feedback. Assist with BIM documentation and project deliverables. Support the preparation of O&M and as-installed documentation. Offsite Manufacturing Support Develop detailed fabrication models for carbon steel and stainless-steel pipework systems. Produce fully dimensioned spool and skid drawings. Liaise with workshop teams to resolve fabrication queries. Ensure designs reflect manufacturing, transportation and installation requirements. Requirements Essential HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, BIM, CAD or a related discipline. Minimum 2 years' experience within a CAD or BIM role. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD. Experience producing detailed mechanical layouts and construction drawings. Strong understanding of pipework systems and mechanical plant installations. Knowledge of BIM processes and coordinated design environments. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and P&IDs. Desirable Experience on energy centres, district heating schemes or heat pump projects. Previous fabrication drawing or spool drawing experience. Understanding of ISO 19650 BIM standards. Key responsibilities include: Leading the development and coordination of BIM models to company and project standards Overseeing the production of GA drawings, detailed sheets, and coordinated layouts Preparing builders' works schedules and associated drawings Managing 3D modelling of prefabricated and modular MEP solutions Ensuring best practice in BIM processes and Revit MEP workflows Supporting M&E design development using Revit MEP and Navisworks Producing detailed 3D working models and scheme layouts Managing and resolving system clashes through Navisworks Manage Developing fully coordinated MEP services and structural layouts Producing high quality 2D/3D design drawings, prefabrication isometrics and details Ensuring compliance with BIM Level 2, COBie data requirements, and internal QA processes Providing technical guidance and mentorship to BIM Coordinators/Technicians What you'll need to succeed Significant experience working in BIM coordination within an MEP environment Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP Strong experience using Navisworks Manage for clash detection and coordination Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in model production Experience working with BIM 360 and Autodesk Docs Experience with Fabrication MEP/CADDuct is advantageous but not essential Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders Ability to lead coordination meetings and present model information confidently What you'll get in return This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of Northern Ireland's leading M&E contractors in a senior technical role.
