Designer/Cad Technician - Exterior facades, cladding - North West London Salary Depending on Experience - Excellent Benefits - up to 50,000 An extremely successful subcontractor known for their expertise in bespoke cladding are currently seeking a competent Designer to oversee their upcoming commercial projects in London. This company has gained their recognition as an innovative subcontractor by providing high-quality solutions across London. Working individually and within a team you will be responsible for all aspects of the cladding design process. This will involve interpretation of architectural / services drawings leading to production of CAD layouts and working details. Therefore, you will have experience of using the latest AutoCAD packages ideally be proficient with Revit and or Solidworks. You will also have relevant, practical experience gained in a suitable sub-contractor environment where you will have been involved in designing curtain walling/cladding, experienced with SFS and rain screen or other systems. Minimum requirements: The ideal CAD Technician will have gained 3 + years' experience working on exterior projects. Ideally you will be HND or City and Guilds qualified in a relevant construction or engineering related discipline. Preferably you will also be computer literate with programming experience, have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work without supervision and to use your own initiative and experience to fulfil the company's commitments. Qualifications Proven experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, and CAD systems for mechanical design. Strong understanding of construction processes, fabrication techniques, and system design principles. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, and MATLAB for automation and control applications. Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts including schematics, PLC programming, and system integration. Familiarity with GD&T standards for precise manufacturing tolerances. Ability to perform root cause analysis and debugging on complex mechanical systems. Experience with product development cycles from concept through fabrication to testing. Joinery CAD Technician required Role responsibilities On a daily basis you will be working on joinery projects, creating production drawings, preparing manufacturing drawings, as well as installation drawings. You will be working in a team together with the Design Manager and Project Managers. The Role This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CAD Technician with a background in steel fabrication and construction-related projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed 2D and 3D drawings for a variety of structural and secondary steelwork projects, ensuring designs are accurate, practical, and suitable for manufacture and installation. The role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with only one day per week required in the Dudley office and the remaining four days working remotely. Key Responsibilities Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for structural and secondary steelwork projects. Create fabrication, manufacturing, workshop, and general arrangement drawings. Strong understanding of structural steelwork, secondary steelwork, and fabrication processes. Experience producing fabrication and workshop drawings for steel structures and construction-related projects. Ability to interpret engineering, architectural, and construction drawings. Comfortable carrying out site surveys and liaising with site teams when required. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote-working environment. CAD Software The business is flexible regarding software and is prepared to accommodate the right candidate.
