The Role As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of groundworks and civil engineering packages, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, to programme and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities Managing the day-to-day delivery of groundworks and civil engineering packages. Supervising site teams, subcontractors, plant and groundworks gangs. Planning and sequencing works to maintain programme and productivity. Managing earthworks, excavation, foundations, drainage, roads, sewers and external works. Coordinating labour, plant and material requirements. Working from drawings, specifications and engineers' information. Liaising with engineers, surveyors, main contractors and client representatives. Monitoring progress against programme and identifying potential delays. Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. Completing daily records, site reports and relevant project documentation. Managing RAMS, permits and site health & safety requirements. Identifying and resolving issues on site before they impact programme or cost. Supporting the Contracts Manager and wider project team with planning and delivery. About You The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience as a Site Manager within groundworks or civil engineering. Strong knowledge of groundworks construction and site operations on residential sites, but will consider those from others such as Commercial, Highrise, Retail, etc. Experience across earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads, sewers and/or infrastructure works. Experience managing groundworkers, subcontractors and plant. The ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site logistics. Excellent communication and leadership skills. A proactive approach to problem solving and project delivery.
