Instrument Technician (6-Month Contract) Waste-to-Energy Project Bristol (BS10) Start Monday: £30 - £35 per hour (CIS/Ltd, depending on experience) Must live locally due to call out / standy rota 1 week per month Work for a leading engineering and industrial services contractor delivering works on a major Waste-to-Energy facility in Bristol. We are looking for an experienced Instrument Technician to join the project on an initial 6-month assignment, supporting installation, commissioning, calibration and maintenance activities across critical plant instrumentation and control systems. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile energy infrastructure project within a modern process plant environment. Working Pattern Monday to Friday Typical 9-10 hour working day 1 week per month on-call / standby rota Long-term contract potential for strong performers Duties Installation and commissioning of instrumentation equipment Calibration of pressure, flow, temperature and level instruments Loop checking and functional testing Fault finding on instrumentation and control systems Supporting commissioning and plant start-up activities Reading and interpreting P&IDs, loop drawings and schematics Assisting with planned maintenance and shutdown activities Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures Requirements Previous experience as an Instrument Technician within an industrial environment Strong instrumentation, calibration and commissioning experience Experience working on power generation, energy-from-waste, biomass, petrochemical, chemical, water treatment or process plant projects Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and control documentation Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems and industrial process equipment Relevant electrical or instrumentation qualifications Desirable ECS Card CCNSG Safety Passport Previous commissioning experience on large industrial projects What's On Offer Immediate start Initial 6-month contract £30.00 - £38.00 per hour (CIS/Ltd, DOE) Weekly pay Opportunity to work on a major Waste-to-Energy project Long-term contract potential Please note: This role is best suited to candidates with previous industrial instrumentation experience. Those from power generation, energy, process, petrochemical, chemical, water treatment, manufacturing or similar heavy industrial environments will be particularly well suited.
