Search Consultancy is recruiting a skilled 360 Excavator Operator to join a busy, fast-paced site in Newcastle upon Tyne . We are seeking precision operators who are confident handling machines above and below 10 tonnes, working efficiently around existing services, deep drainage, and active groundworks gangs. If you hold a valid CPCS or NPORS card, have a strong safety record, and want reliable weekly work with an established main contractor, we want to hear from you. Your Role & Responsibilities Operating tracking excavators safely and efficiently, your day-to-day duties will include: Earthworks & Excavation: Carrying out bulk earthworks, deep drainage trenching, foundation dig-outs, and footings to exact line and level drawings. Precision Grading & Finishing: Executing fine grading, stone trimming, bank battering, and levelling prior to slab pours and road installs. Utility & Service Safety: Operating with extreme care around live underground services, maintaining safe working distances, and adhering strictly to cable avoidance plans. Trench Support & Lifting Operations: Working in conjunction with groundworkers for trench box placements and carrying out safe slinging/lifting operations (if lifted-object ticket is held). Machine Care & Inspections: Performing mandatory daily pre-start checks, maintaining greasing schedules, reporting any mechanical faults promptly, and keeping the cab clean. What We're Looking For To satisfy site entry rules and health and safety regulations, applicants must possess: Plant Ticket: A valid CPCS or NPORS card for 360 Excavator (Above & Below 10 Tonnes) is strictly mandatory . (Lifting Operations / Safe Load Indicator endorsement is highly advantageous). Site Experience: Proven track record operating 360 excavators across civils, commercial groundworks, or residential infrastructure developments. Safety Awareness: Thorough understanding of site safety, service clearance, banksperson signals, and working in confined or busy site environments. PPE & Transport: Standard 5-point PPE (hard hat, high-vis, steel toe boots, gloves, eye protection) and reliable transport to site in Newcastle daily.
