Key Responsibilities Manage all commercial aspects of electricity infrastructure projects across the framework Prepare, review, and manage cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts Administer contracts (likely NEC forms) including variations, compensation events, and change control Carry out valuations, interim applications, and final accounts Monitor project costs and identify risks and opportunities Provide accurate commercial reporting to internal stakeholders Review subcontractor quotations, appointments, and ongoing performance Support procurement activities and supplier negotiations Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to drive commercial outcomes Key Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within utilities or electricity infrastructure (e.g., transmission, distribution, substations, cabling) Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4 preferred) Experience working on framework agreements is highly desirable Demonstrable track record of delivering effective cost control and contract administration Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Qualifications & Skills Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management Membership of RICS (or working towards) is preferable Proficiency in commercial systems and MS Excel Full UK driving licence (site visits may be required) Working Arrangements Hybrid working model - combination of home working and office presence in Glasgow Occasional travel to project sites across Scotland Contract Details Competitive day rate (dependent on experience) Contract duration: Initial term with strong potential for extension Immediate or short-notice availability preferred Why Join Opportunity to work on a long-term, high-value electricity framework Flexible hybrid working environment Collaborative and technically strong project teams Exposure to critical national infrastructure projects

Freelance Groundworks Supervisor Start Date: 06/07/2026 Duration: 6 Months Day rate: 280- 320 DOE SOS Group are recruiting for an experienced Groundworks Supervisor to join a major groundworks and civil engineering project on a 6-month contract commencing on 6th July 2026 . Working alongside the site management team, you will be responsible for supervising daily operations, coordinating subcontractors and direct labour, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme. Duties & Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day site operations across the groundworks package. Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors. Ensure works are completed safely and in accordance with RAMS. Monitor productivity and programme performance. Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks and daily task planning. Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout construction activities. Liaise with Site Engineers, Site Managers and client representatives. Identify and resolve site issues to maintain progress. Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture on site. Requirements Previous experience supervising groundworks and civil engineering projects. Strong understanding of drainage, foundations, roads, external works and associated infrastructure. SSSTS or SMSTS certification. CSCS Card essential. First Aid at Work preferred. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to drive programme and maintain high standards of workmanship and safety. This role would suit an experienced Supervisor, General Foreman or Working Foreman with a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering projects.
