Job Description

BMSL require an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for a commercial project working nightshift in the Clydebank area please find a rough guide to a job specification below.

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of mechanical operatives, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety protocols.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity, quality, and worksite discipline.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and subcontractors.
  • Project Execution
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of mechanical works in line with overall project timelines.
  • Ensure mechanical systems are installed and commissioned in accordance with drawings and regulations.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, and other supervisors to ensure integrated delivery of services.
  • Inspect mechanical works regularly to ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and quality benchmarks.
  • Address any installation issues or defects and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and handover documentation.
  • Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture on site.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings with the mechanical team.
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn and all site-specific safety procedures are followed.
  • Manage material deliveries and stock levels for mechanical components on site.
  • Ensure all equipment is safely operated, maintained, and accounted for.
  • Report material shortages, damages, or delays to the project team promptly.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical supervision within construction or building services environments.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system installation techniques.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams effectively under tight schedules and changing site conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid CSCS/ECS card, SSSTS/SMSTS certification, and relevant mechanical qualifications.
