Location: South East - Hybrid Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Package: Company car / 600 per month car allowance + excellent benefits The Opportunity We are currently working with a leading organisation within the BMS and Building Controls sector that is looking to appoint an experienced BMS Estimator / Technical Sales Estimator to join their growing team. This is a technical-commercial position that sits at the heart of the sales, technical and operational functions. You will be responsible for taking BMS opportunities from the initial enquiry through to tender submission, working closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams throughout the process. This is not a back-office pricing role . The successful candidate will have the opportunity to attend site surveys, support client and consultant meetings and play a key role in developing technically strong and commercially competitive BMS solutions. Key Responsibilities Review and assess incoming BMS tender enquiries. Interpret BMS specifications, drawings, schematics, points schedules and associated documentation. Understand client requirements, project timescales and key commercial drivers. Develop technically appropriate and commercially competitive BMS solutions. Prepare detailed BMS estimates and proposal documentation. Identify scope gaps, risks, qualifications, exclusions and commercial opportunities. Obtain, review and negotiate pricing from panel manufacturers, installation subcontractors and suppliers. Build and maintain strong relationships with preferred subcontractors and supply-chain partners. Attend site surveys and support client/consultant meetings where required. Work closely with the sales team throughout the tender process. Contribute to bid writing and wider proposal activities. Ensure all tenders follow internal governance, reporting and authorisation procedures. Maintain accurate opportunity and tender records. Support forecasting and monitor tender response times. What We're Looking For We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate: Strong experience within BMS / BEMS / Building Controls . Excellent technical knowledge of HVAC and BMS systems . Previous experience in BMS estimating, proposals, applications or technical sales. The ability to confidently interpret BMS specifications, drawings, schematics and points schedules. Experience preparing or significantly contributing to complete BMS estimates and proposals. Knowledge of working across multiple BMS manufacturers and platforms. Experience with systems such as Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, Delta, Distech or similar. Experience obtaining and evaluating panel, installation and supplier quotations. Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple live tenders and competing deadlines. Excellent communication skills when dealing with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal stakeholders. A proactive, self-motivated and accountable approach.
