Due to the awarding of several new Frameworks and bidding for works in new sectors/disciples, our client a major Tier 1 contractor is seeking to employ several Estimators and Senior Estimators to be based from either their Warrington or South Yorkshire office (we are looking for both permanent and freelance staff with options for hybrid working). They deliver maintenance frameworks, capital delivery and complex civil engineering across the UK, including bridge reconstruction, environmental infrastructure, highways, tunnels, station works, lineside civils and utility installations. Our clients include Local Authorities, Network Rail, energy companies and environmental organisations. Lineside Civils, Cabling, Trough Routes & Telecoms You will be responsible for estimating contracts and projects during the pre-contract/tender stage for a range of civil engineering projects including sectors such as rail, aviation, power & utilities and Environment Agency projects in the North West region. Key Responsibilities: - Effective registration, control, and administration of tender documentation - Preparation and management of tenders from receipt of documents through to delivery - Presentation of tenders to senior management at tender review meetings - Liaison with the Supply Chain team in respect of placing supplier/subcontractor enquiries - Technical and commercial appraisal of construction labour, plant, materials, and temporary works - Take-offs from drawings and production of cost-effective tenders from first principles - Effective analysis and pricing of risks - Preparation of tender submission documents - Preparation of estimating reports - Providing assistance to proposals and contract management functions Requirements: - Previous experience as a Senior Estimator in multi-disciplinary civil engineering sectors such as rail, highways, aviation, and/or utilities and power - First Principles Estimating experience - Civil engineering project experience - Experience as a Senior Estimator in a civil engineering contractor organisation - Working knowledge of Excel (& Word) and estimating software

Freelance Senior Estimator The successful Senior Estimator will be offered on going work on an exciting and complex scheme. We are resourcing an experienced Freelance Estimator to be site based on a large prime residential fit out in the heart of Mayfair. Our client as a large amount of variations which need repricing and submitting. The Estimator will be working from drawings / Bills of quantities and will be expected to produce accurate variations for submission. The work is complex and requires an experienced Estimator with an understanding of pricing and quality presentation and will also be expected to liaise with the site team during the preparation of the submissions. Our client is a large construction main contractor who specialise in the luxury prime residential market on schemes ranging from £15 - £60m in value, working on both new build and refurbishment schemes. Freelance Estimator - St. Albans - Ongoing Our client is a premier chartered construction specialist delivering exceptional niche projects across residential property development, and complex construction projects throughout the UK. As an Estimator you will carry out niche, high-end residential development tenders working with professionalism and integrity from initial enquiry to completion, providing services of the highest calibre. Role Purpose Produce accurate, competitive cost estimates and tender packages for basement construction projects and property developments from feasibility through to final tender submission. Key Responsibilities Take off quantities and price basement schemes, including underpinning, piling, retaining walls, waterproofing/tanking and dewatering Analyse drawings, specifications and ground investigation reports to identify cost-significant risks Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for specialist basement packages Prepare cost plans, tender submissions and value engineering options Liaise with designers, structural engineers and clients on buildability and cost Assess risk items specific to basements, including groundwater, party wall implications, temporary works and contaminated ground Essential Experience Proven estimating background in residential high-end properties, ideally with involvement on basement/substructure work. Knowledge of temporary works principles. Familiarity with NEC/JCT contract forms.

My client is an award winning building contractor specialising in new build commercial and industrial projects to 8m at the top end. Due to retirement the client is looking to recruit a freelance estimator on an ongoing basis. You must have a strong background in the aforementioned and a wealth of experience. Systems knowledge, Conquest, Causeway etc is not essential as the client is happy for the estimator to work in the style they are accustomed. The role is office based therefore would not suit an estimator who cant travel to West Yorkshire daily. There may be scope to work from home one day per week if essential.
