Gateman / Traffic Marshall

Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Traffic Marshall / Gateman to join our team on a busy construction site. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling vehicle movements, ensuring site access is managed efficiently, and maintaining a safe working environment for staff, visitors, and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and manage the movement of vehicles entering and leaving the site
• Ensure safe loading and unloading of deliveries
• Maintain clear communication with drivers, site management, and operatives
• Monitor site access points and ensure only authorised personnel enter
• Log deliveries and visitor entries accurately
• Assist with general site duties when required
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
• Report any incidents, hazards, or near misses to site management

Requirements:

• Valid Traffic Marshall / Banksman ticket (e.g., CPCS or NPORS)
• Previous experience in a similar role on construction sites
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain alert and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
