Job Title: Estimator
Location: Birmingham (West Midlands)
Sector: Construction - Fit-Out Projects

Salary ( 55,000- 70,000 + Package)

Role Overview:
We are seeking an Estimator to join our team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial fit-out projects across the West Midlands. You will play a key role in securing new business by producing high-quality tenders and supporting the pre-construction team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for fit-out projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to assess project requirements
• Take off quantities and build up rates for labour, materials, and subcontract packages
• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
• Attend site visits, pre-tender and post-tender meetings
• Work closely with design, commercial, and project delivery teams
• Maintain and update cost databases and estimating tools

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Estimator within construction, ideally fit-out/interiors
• Strong understanding of commercial fit-out projects (CAT A / CAT B)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Good numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software

Desirable:

• Experience working for a main contractor or fit-out specialist
• Knowledge of current market rates and supply chain within the Midlands
• Understanding of value engineering and cost planning
