Pre-Construction Manager / Estimator - Bedford

We are currently working with a well established and growing construction business delivering projects across commercial interiors, fit-out, refurbishment and M&E services.

Due to continued growth they are now looking to bring in a Pre-Construction Manager / Estimator to support their pre-construction and tendering function.

This role would suit an experienced estimator looking to step up into a broader pre-con role, or someone already operating in pre-construction within a commercial construction environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the pre-construction phase of projects from initial enquiry through to handover, ensuring accurate pricing, planning and coordination.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing estimates and tender submissions for projects up to £3m
• Producing take-offs from drawings including labour and materials
• Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
• Reviewing project documentation and identifying risks or gaps
• Supporting tender reviews, site visits and handover processes
• Working closely with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth project delivery

About You

• Previous experience as an Estimator within commercial construction
• Ideally exposure to fit-out, interiors or refurbishment projects
• Understanding of full tender process and pricing strategy
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Good communication and organisational skills
• IT literate (Excel and estimating systems)
