The Role
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in a senior leadership capacity. This role will be based in the Bristol area and will play a key part in the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of a major social housing refurbishment contract.
This is a pivotal operational role with full responsibility for delivering a large-scale housing partnership programme, with scope to expand into a broader remit over time.
The successful candidate will bring extensive senior-level experience within construction operations, ideally within the social housing sector, delivering both internal and external refurbishment and retrofit programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall operations of a social housing refurbishment contract, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery
- Manage multidisciplinary teams and supply chain partners to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to specification
- Drive project strategy, sustainability objectives, and continuous performance improvement
- Oversee commercial performance including risk management, P&L accountability, and collaboration on tenders and forecasting
- Build strong stakeholder relationships while ensuring effective reporting, technical support, and resolution of defects and complaints
Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience operating at Senior Operations Manager or Operations Manager level
- Strong track record in construction refurbishment, particularly within social housing programmes
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale contracts valued at £20m+ and multi-million-pound projects
- Relevant qualification (NVQ Level 6 in Construction or equivalent)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Desirable:
- Experience within the retrofit sector
