Setting Out Engineer - Specialist Contractor

We are currently searching for a Setting Out Engineer for a fast-paced cut & fill package in Bicester. You will be working for a subcontractor who specialises in these packages, working alongside the principal contractor on the scheme.
The Role: - Carrying out topographical and pre-earthworks surveys, establishing existing ground levels and site constraints
- Setting out cut and fill operations, including formation levels, profiles, batter lines and haul roads in line with design models
- Establishing and maintaining site control, including GPS control points, datums and gridlines
- Using GPS, total station and machine control systems to guide earthworks operations and ensure accuracy
- Monitoring cut & fill progress, carrying out regular surveys to track volumes, levels and compliance with design tolerances
- Producing volume calculations and reports, comparing planned vs actual earthworks quantities
- Checking formation levels and compaction layers, ensuring works meet specification and are ready for subsequent construction stages
- Supporting QA processes, including survey records, as-built data and verification of completed works
- Liaising with site teams and plant operators, providing clear setting out information and resolving technical issues
- Identifying discrepancies between design and site conditions, escalating issues and proposing practical solutions
Experience Required: - 5 + years experience working as a Setting Out/Site Engineer in the Construction/Civil Engineering sector.
- Experience using Trimble systems
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- All applicants must hold a CSCS Card as a minimum
