General Operative Marina Site Maintenance & Cleaning

We re recruiting for a General Operative to join a busy marina site in Southampton, helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors, residents, and staff.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in keeping outdoor spaces well-presented and running smoothly.

You ll be responsible for the upkeep of all external areas across the marina estate, including:

• Daily litter picking across pathways, car parks, and communal areas
• Sweeping and blowing of hard surfaces to remove debris and leaves
• Bin management emptying, cleaning, and ensuring tidy surrounding areas
• Graffiti removal to maintain site standards
• Pressure washing surfaces to keep areas clean and presentable
• Cleaning and maintaining site signage
• Weekly Yacht Club cleaning (2 hours), including:
  • Hoovering hallways, stairways, and lifts
  • Cleaning mirrors, lighting, banisters, ceilings, and skirting
  • Mopping floors and polishing surfaces

You ll work closely with on-site staff to ensure the site remains aligned with operational standards.

• Monday to Friday: 8 hours per day
• Every other Saturday: 4 hours (rota-based)
• Includes 2 hours per week dedicated to Yacht Club cleaning
• Total: 40 hours per week

• Experience in cleaning, maintenance, or facilities/site work (preferred)
• Someone reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
• Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Team player with a positive attitude

• £14 per hour (PAYE) - monthly or weekly pay
• Stable, long-term role (paid via Red Chilli Recruitment)
