Job Description

We are working with a well established M&E contractor delivering mechanical and electrical services across refurbishment, maintenance and fit-out projects within the commercial, industrial, education and healthcare sectors.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Design & Sustainability Engineer to support both design development and sustainability initiatives across multiple Central London projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work across both technical design and environmental performance, with exposure to live projects and close collaboration with delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and coordination of M&E systems across refurbishment and fit-out projects

  • Assist in developing energy efficient and sustainable design solutions

  • Work closely with project, commercial and site teams to ensure designs are practical and deliverable

  • Contribute to sustainability strategies, including carbon reduction and energy modelling initiatives

  • Review technical drawings, specifications and submittals

  • Monitor compliance with current regulations, building standards and sustainability targets

  • Attend site visits across Central London to support project delivery and implementation

  • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and clients throughout the project lifecycle

About You:

  • Background in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) engineering, construction or building services

  • Experience or strong interest in sustainability/energy efficient design

  • Understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards

  • Able to work across both office and site environments

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders

  • Proactive, detail oriented and keen to develop within a growing business
