Senior/ Principal Electrical Design Engineer

We are working with a privately owned Building Services consultancy operating for over 25 years, looking for an ambitious Senior/ Principal Electrical Engineer with aspirations to progress long term. An exciting chance to join an established business with a strategy in place for sustainable & profitable growth. This position would suit an established Senior or someone who is looking to step into a Principal role.

Your workload is varied offering different challenges and rewards, with involvement in management and also delivery. Projects sectors include Custodial, Healthcare, Education, Residential, Commercial and much more.

You will be responsible for leading complex electrical engineering projects within the company, overseeing design teams, ensuring project quality, client interaction, and technical expertise across all aspects of electrical design.

Core responsibilities;

• Lead the design and specification of electrical services for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, fire alarms, communications, and security systems.
• Prepare and review calculations, load assessments, schematics, and single-line diagrams using relevant software (e.g., Amtech, Dialux, Revit, AutoCAD).
• Ensure all designs comply with current regulations (BS standards, IET Wiring Regulations, CIBSE Guidelines, and Building Regulations).
• Produce high-quality design documentation, including detailed drawings, schedules, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure integrated building services solutions.
