They are recognised for their long term success delivering projects secured from both framework 2-stage tenders (regional and national frameworks) in addition to securing projects from single stage tenders in the local area. Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will take responsibility for Bid Writing and supporting the work winning team, handling tenders generated from a range of single stage tenders and frameworks, projects typically worth 5m- 30m in single value. Formulate strategic bid plans, win themes, and client-tailored strategies prior to drafting responses. Research market trends, competitor landscapes, and relevant tender topics to inform win strategy. Draft, edit, and proofread bid responses to ensure high clarity, consistency, and value-focused messaging. Facilitate formal draft review stages throughout the tender lifecycle to refine submission quality. Ensure full compliance with client specifications, internal standards, and mandatory limits. Design and format bid documentation using desktop publishing tools in line with corporate branding. Embed health, safety, and operational governance standards into submission materials. Collaborate with estimators, planners, and design manager to gather accurate content without duplication. Work with commercial and operations teams to tailor personnel CVs and project case studies. Update central bid databases and reference libraries for future reuse. Analyse post-submission feedback to drive continuous improvement in response quality and win rates. Desirable Experience: 5 years+ experience as Bid Writer. Experience working on bids for construction companies would be advantageous. Good knowledge of construction management process and techniques. Previous roles: Bid Writer OR Assistant Bid Manager OR Senior Bid Writer OR Bid Coordinator OR Senior Bid Coordinator. Qualifications & Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project packages. HNC, BTEC, A-Levels, or a comparable level of post-GCSE study / relevant qualification. A new planned opening to appoint an Estimator to join their friendly, stable and dynamic business has become available. Candidates ideally sought will be required to commute to the South Yorkshire area, however a hybrid home working agreement may be possible after a probationary period or straight away for the right candidate. Working on construction tenders ranging from 150K to 3m and above, you will produce and submit professional and accurate tenders with commercial acumen whilst taking note of the current market conditions. Those with experience of either glass, timber, steel, masonry, metalwork and fabricated products, cladding or other specialist construction or architectural metalwork products will be considered.
