As a result, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their pre-construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with a background in civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure projects to join a successful and growing business where they can play a key role in securing future work and supporting the company's continued expansion. The Role Working closely with the Commercial Director and senior management team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a range of civil engineering, groundworks and associated construction projects. Projects are likely to include residential infrastructure works, roads and sewers, foundations, drainage, earthworks, external works, retaining structures and associated groundworks packages. Role Responsibilities Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and contract documentation. Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions. Undertaking quantity take-offs and measuring works from drawings and specifications. Obtaining and analysing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. Preparing bills of quantities and pricing schedules. Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain information and competitive quotations. Attending pre-tender, client and site meetings where required. Working closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure accurate handovers following successful tenders. Supporting value engineering exercises and alternative construction solutions where appropriate. About You Previous experience working as an Estimator within civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of groundworks packages including drainage, foundations, roads and sewers, earthworks and external works. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction documentation. Experience preparing accurate cost plans, tenders and estimates. Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software packages. Full UK driving licence. Small Works Estimator Commercial Environments Building Fabric Disciplines 50,000 + Company Car Redhill, Surrey with travel across SE England. Due to increased workload, we are currently recruiting for a Small Works Estimator to join our small works projects team, over-seeing surveying, pricing / estimating for small works (circa 1,000 - 100,000 values) within a wide range of commercial environments. As the Small Works Estimator, you will be working within a well established team, based in Redhill, Surrey. Your week will be split between office based and visiting client sites. Office based work will include pricing works from circa 1,000 - 10,000 valuations and submitting quotes in a timely manor within contract SLA & KPIs, alongside all administration support from site visits. The remainder of the week will be visiting client sites and taking project works from initial enquiry, full site survey and providing full quotes for works between 10,000 - 100,000 valuation. Works that you will be pricing will all be small works projects within commercial environments including carpentry, flooring, tiling, fire doors, refurbishments, large emergency repairs, minor brickwork and minor roofing. Employment Package: Role: Small Works Estimator Status: Permanent, PAYE Base Salary: 50,000 + company car and fuel card. Location/s: Hybrid - Redhill, Surrey - with travel across the South East of England to client sites/projects. role 50/50 office based + travelling. Requirements: Must have experience within a similar position previously, surveying / quoting / estimating small works. Must have a basic understanding of building fabric disciplines such as carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating, fire doors, flooring, tiling, refurbishments etc. Previous experience using a CAFM system is highly preferable, Simpro or ProNett in particular would be highly advantageous. Experience within commercial environments is highly preferable. Must have a UK driving license with 9 points or less.
