Summary:

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a private family-owned main contractor s West Midlands division. This is a site-based role where you will be supported by a Senior Quantity Surveyor. The projects you will be involved with include police stations and other security-related developments, alongside traditional NEC contracts. The role offers valuable exposure to a variety of contract types and project scopes within a supportive team environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months site experience and be eager to develop their commercial and quantity surveying skills on complex and sensitive projects.

Skills:

• Minimum 12 months site experience (essential)
• Knowledge of NEC contracts
• Ability to prepare valuations and payment applications
• Cost monitoring and reporting
• Subcontractor liaison and management
• Measurement and quantification skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work on site and liaise with project teams
• Proactive approach to learning and development

Software/Tools:

• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Commercial management software (desirable but not essential)

Certifications & Standards:

• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or working towards
• CSCS card (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence (desirable depending on site requirements)
