Senior Construction Planner (Fit-Out & Refurbishment)

Location: London-based (Initial 12-month site placement in Brighton)

The Opportunity

We are a leading national contractor with an established reputation for delivering high-quality refurbishment and fit-out projects within complex, live environments. We are seeking a Senior Planner to provide a professional programming service for pre-contract and key projects across the UK.

This is a dual site and office-based role. The successful candidate will spend the first 12 months based on a major project in Sussex, before transitioning London to manage a national portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tender Support: Create construction schedules and methodologies to support the estimating team and present proposals at settlement meetings.

  • Live Project Management: Update schedules based on site feedback and conduct Critical Path Analysis to provide accurate stakeholder reporting.

  • Integrated Planning: Ensure seamless integration of design and procurement elements within the operational programme.

  • Change Management: Manage change by reviewing the programmatic effect of variations and advising on Extension of Time (EOT) issues.

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor a balanced suite of KPIs and performance criteria throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential delays or bottlenecks early, developing robust mitigation strategies to protect project targets.

Candidate Requirements

  • Software Mastery: Essential working knowledge of Asta Powerproject.

  • Sector Experience: Strong understanding of planning processes from a construction fit-out perspective.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Analysis, and performance measurement.

  • Contract Knowledge: Familiarity with commonly used forms of construction contracts.

  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to analyze quotes for time-related preliminaries and support the wider commercial team.

  • Operational Flexibility: Experience working around business-critical equipment in live, high-pressure environments.
