Estimator Fabric Fitout
An established building services and refurbishment contractor is seeking a Fabric Estimator to support a growing pipeline of refurbishment and building fabric projects across London. Operating for over two decades and as part of a larger national construction services group, the business delivers maintenance, compliance, and refurbishment works across highly regulated environments including defence, healthcare, education, and critical infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a stable organisation with long-term contracts and a consistent flow of refurbishment work. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing projects and ensuring tenders are commercially robust, competitive, and well structured.

The Role
Based in the Elephant & Castle office, the Fabric Estimator will manage refurbishment and building fabric tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission and handover to the delivery team. You will typically work across multiple tenders simultaneously, supporting projects across public sector and commercial environments.

Key responsibilities include:
• Reviewing tender documentation and assessing project scope, drawings, and specifications
• Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings with clients and stakeholders
• Carrying out detailed take-offs for refurbishment and internal building fabric works
• Producing Bills of Quantities (BQs) and structured cost plans
• Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
• Analysing subcontractor returns for compliance and best value
• Identifying commercial risks and incorporating them into pricing
• Clearly outlining tender clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions
• Preparing comprehensive pricing submissions for internal approval
• Managing multiple tenders simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and deadlines
• Working closely with colleagues, contractors, consultants, and suppliers throughout the tender process
• Supporting the smooth handover of secured projects to the delivery team
This role suits an organised and commercially aware Estimator who is confident pricing refurbishment and building fabric works and managing several tenders at once.

About You
•Proven experience as an Estimator within refurbishment, building fabric, or maintenance works
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and project documentation
• Good understanding of measurement and take-off processes
• Experience managing multiple live tenders simultaneously
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project is beneficial
