Estimator - Structural steel
Location: South Wales
Salary: up to 55,000 - dependant of experience
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the early stages of project delivery. You will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing supplier quotations, and ensuring tender submissions are competitive and technically sound.
Interpret drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), pricing models, and tender submissions.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and analyse quotations.
Support tender strategy, value engineering, and risk assessment.
Work closely with technical and commercial teams throughout the tender process.
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Previous estimating experience within construction (steel experience beneficial).
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Clear communication skills when working with technical and commercial teams.
1 Month: Become familiar with internal tender systems and support ongoing estimates.
3 Months: Take responsibility for smaller to mid-sized tenders.
6 Months: Lead larger tender packages and contribute to bid strategy.
12 Months: Become a key contributor to successful project wins.
