We re working with a highly respected civil engineering contractor with a strong footprint across Devon and Somerset. Well established but still growing, the business delivers complex infrastructure projects typically ranging from £5m to £40m.
Their work spans major highways schemes, bridges and structures, Section 278 works, infrastructure upgrades, road realignments and junction improvements. Known for their technical capability, high safety standards and collaborative approach, they ve built an outstanding reputation with clients and enjoy a strong level of repeat business.
With a solid pipeline of secured projects, they re now looking to strengthen their Exeter team with the appointment of an experienced
Site Agent.
The Role
As Site Agent, you ll take a leading role in delivering live civil engineering projects, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to programme. Acting as the key link between the client, subcontractors and internal teams, you ll drive performance on site while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Chairing and attending client and site progress meetings
- Managing and coordinating subcontractors on site
- Leading, supervising and motivating site teams
- Short-term planning and look-ahead programming
- Preparing, reviewing and approving RAMS
- Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Managing site quality control and health & safety compliance
- Ensuring all activities align with company and project procedures
The Ideal Candidate
We re looking for a confident and capable Site Agent with a strong civil engineering background and a track record of delivering infrastructure projects.
You ll bring:
- A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience working for a civil engineering main contractor
- Proven delivery experience on highways, infrastructure, structures or similar schemes
- A commercially aware, solutions-focused mindset
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- An engineering-led approach with a strong focus on safety and quality
