An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Document Controller to join a growing infrastructure contractor supporting the delivery of major civil engineering projects across South Wales .
The business specialises in delivering complex infrastructure solutions across sectors including water, wastewater, heavy civils, highways and environmental engineering, working on long-term frameworks with major utility providers.
The Document Controller will play a key role in ensuring accurate management, control and distribution of project documentation across multiple projects. This role will support project teams, engineers, commercial teams and subcontractors by maintaining effective document control systems and ensuring compliance with project procedures and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the project document control system, ensuring all documents are logged, tracked and distributed correctly.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate, up to date and compliant with company procedures and client requirements.
- Control the issue, receipt and revision of drawings, technical documents and reports.
- Maintain registers for drawings, RFIs, technical submissions and project correspondence.
- Support project teams by ensuring timely distribution of information to internal teams, clients and subcontractors.
- Monitor document workflows and ensure deadlines for submissions and approvals are met.
- Archive completed project documentation in accordance with company and client procedures.
- Assist project managers and engineers with document management and reporting requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Document Controller within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of document control procedures within engineering or construction environments.
- Experience using document management systems (e.g. Viewpoint, Aconex, Asite, ProjectWise or similar).
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage large volumes of project documentation.
- Strong communication and coordination skills when working with project teams and subcontractors.
Desirable
- Eperience working on water or utilities infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and project documentation standards.
