Job Title: Pre-Construction Manager

Location : Manchester

Salary : Up to 75k

We are seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead the successful delivery of projects through the pre-construction phase and drive winning bids. This role is responsible for developing bid strategies, leading multidisciplinary teams, managing risk, and taking projects through to financial close while ensuring quality, commercial success, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate bid and pre-construction activities to secure new projects.
• Develop and implement winning bid strategies and manage resources throughout the process.
• Oversee project planning, programming, and risk management during pre-construction.
• Lead internal teams, design partners, and supply chain to produce high-quality, competitive bids.
• Manage stakeholder engagement, including clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Ensure strong commercial management, value for money, and profitable project outcomes.
• Maintain accurate reporting to senior management and ensure governance processes are followed.
• Support bid interview preparation and apply lessons learned from feedback to continuously improve performance.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in pre-construction, bid management, or project management within the construction sector.
• Proven track record of winning work and delivering profitable projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent planning, risk management, and commercial awareness.
• Knowledge of bid processes, procurement routes, and supply chain engagement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
