The Company

Our client is a well-established groundworks and civil engineering contractor delivering residential infrastructure and groundworks packages for leading housebuilders across Kent, Surrey and the South East.

The business works on a wide range of residential infrastructure, roads, drainage and groundworks schemes, supporting major residential developments throughout the region.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of groundworks and civil engineering projects from procurement through to final account.

Responsibilities will include:

• Commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account
• Subcontractor procurement and package management
• Managing variations, valuations and cost reporting
• Monitoring project budgets and ensuring commercial performance
• Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members
• Working closely with site teams, project managers and commercial leadership
• Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and clients

The role will play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong commercial control across all developments.

About You

• An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor within groundworks or civil engineering
• A Project Quantity Surveyor looking to progress into a Senior Quantity Surveyor role
• Commercial professionals experienced in residential infrastructure or groundworks projects
• Candidates with strong leadership and commercial management experience

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or within a senior commercial role in construction
• Experience within groundworks, civil engineering or residential infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and package management
• Experience managing variations, valuations and commercial reporting
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong commercial awareness and cost management ability
