Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Materials Buyer to join a well-established and highly regarded residential developer at their regional office in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire.
This is a fantastic chance to join a privately owned housebuilder known for delivering high-quality homes across the North of England and the South East.
Working as part of the commercial and procurement team, you will play a key role in sourcing and procuring materials across multiple residential developments, ensuring projects are supplied efficiently and cost-effectively.
The Role
As Materials Buyer, you will be responsible for:
Procuring construction materials for multiple housing developments
Managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing agreements
Preparing and issuing material orders in line with build programmes
Monitoring material costs and identifying value engineering opportunities
Ensuring materials are delivered to site on time and within budget
Liaising closely with site teams, commercial teams and suppliers
Maintaining accurate procurement records within the COINS system
Requirements
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
Previous experience working as a Buyer or Materials Buyer within construction
Experience procuring building materials for housing or construction projects
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Experience using COINS (essential)
The ability to work effectively within a busy office environment
