Intermediate Construction Buyer Wanted

Experienced buyer wanted to assist this very well established developer / contractor who have been trading for over 25 years. With an exciting pipeline of secured projects over the next few years they are now seeking an intermediate buyer to assist with the procurement function of each ongoing and new projects they have. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director you will be responsible for managing procurement across a range of construction projects ranging from new build residential to refurbishment works, ensuring materials and subcontract packages are sourced competitively and delivered on programme.

The successful candidate will play a crucial part in maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting smooth project delivery from pre-construction through to completion with some of your key responsibilities listed below:

Key Responsibilities

• Procurement of materials and subcontract packages across refurbishment and fit-out projects
• Negotiating the best value pricing and terms
• Preparing and issuing enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and schedules to identify procurement requirements
• Placing ongoing orders for each project and managing supplier performance
• Ensuring materials are delivered in line with programme requirements
• Monitoring cost movements and reporting to commercial/project teams
• Building and maintaining strong long term supplier relationships
