Our client is a long-established regional main contractor delivering construction projects across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the wider South East. The business has over 50 years of trading history and operates across sectors including education, healthcare, industrial, commercial and residential developments.

They have built a strong reputation for quality delivery and repeat business with both public and private sector clients, delivering projects ranging from refurbishment and extensions through to new build developments.

Due to continued growth and a healthy project pipeline, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team.

The Role

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a range of construction projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing cost estimates and tender submissions
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Pricing subcontract packages and obtaining quotations
• Liaising with supply chain partners and subcontractors
• Risk analysis and value engineering opportunities
• Supporting the commercial and pre-construction teams during bid stages

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Estimator within a main contractor
• Experience pricing new build and refurbishment projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and supply chain pricing
• Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
