Environmental Advisor

Contract (9 months+)

Our client is currently sourcing an Environmental Advisor on a contract basis from their Manchester Office (inside IR35) for an initial 9 month period. The main purpose of the role is to provide environment and sustainability (E&S) support, guidance, information to the rail team and to help co-ordinate and deliver E&S improvement initiatives across the company.

Other responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement a risk based environmental audit and inspection schedule.
  • Provide support to the Civils team environmental input to Work Package Plans.
  • Provide environmental input to weekly Whiteboard
  • Establish and implement schedule for delivery of environmental toolbox talks and support environmental training and awareness.
  • Provide advice, support and guidance regarding environmental risk management.
  • Collate, analyse and compile E&S performance data and insight
  • Lead on environmental incident investigations, produce investigation reports and lessons learned and assist in implementing any learning identified.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to organise and deliver E&S improvement projects.
  • Champion E&S engagement campaigns.

Skills/Experience required

  • Wide rail construction industry experience in an environmental / sustainability role with evidence of successful delivery
  • Experience of working with Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001)
  • Strong understanding of HSQE principles
  • Ideally hold PTS
