Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Bristol, Hybrid working.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a highly regarded Complex Projects team delivering major infrastructure and engineering programmes across the UK and internationally.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key commercial leadership role, ensuring projects are delivered successfully, responsibly, and within budget while upholding the highest professional standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Commercial Leadership - Acting as the primary commercial contact on assigned projects.
  • Collaboration - Working closely with project teams, leadership, contractors, and supply chain partners to maintain strong and productive relationships.
  • Cost Management - Monitoring and controlling project costs to ensure delivery within approved budgets. Reviewing, validating, and managing contractor and supplier applications and payments
  • Financial Reporting - Producing regular financial reports, including performance updates, forecasts, and risk analysis to ensure transparency and confidence in project outcomes
  • Procurement - Supporting or leading procurement processes, including tender evaluation and contractor appointment.
  • Contract Administration - Administering a range of contract forms, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Managing variations and change control processes, reviewing quotations, and ensuring timely agreement.
  • Risk & Value Management - Identifying and mitigating commercial risks while supporting value engineering initiatives to optimise project performance.
  • Team Development - Mentoring and supporting junior team members to encourage professional growth and career progression.


About you:
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A degree (BSc or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in both pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties.
  • Working knowledge of contract forms such as NEC4, FIDIC, or IChemE.
  • Understanding of recognised methods of measurement (e.g., CESMM4, MMHW).
  • Experience within civil infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, water, or rail) is desirable but not essential.
  • Membership of, or working towards membership of, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or an equivalent recognised professional body.
