Exciting role on offer for a Lead Hot Rolled Detailer to join an innovative construction company who specialise in light steel framing.

This company are an award-winning, niche construction company who specialise in innovative light steel frame solutions. They work on a range of projects including mixed use buildings, student accommodation and Ministry of Defence. They have a busy year ahead with lots of projects recently won for 2026, so they are now looking for a Lead Hot Rolled Detailer to join the team.

In this hybrid role, you will be required to manage and coordinate a small team of designers. You will be responsible for workloads, setting deadlines, monitoring progress, ensuring quality and timely delivery of all design outputs produced by the team.

You will be expected to prepare accurate 3D models and shop drawings for fabrication in software such as Revit or Advanced Steel. You will liaise closely with Structural Engineers to coordinate design intent, resolve technical queries, incorporating engineering calculations and details into hot rolled steel designs.

The ideal candidate will have experience using Revit, AutoCAD and Advanced Steel and will have previous experience in a similar construction or manufacturing design related role. You will be an excellent communicator, being able to work accurately and competently. You will be a problem solver with a solutions-focused approach.

The Role:

• Lead, manage and coordinate a small team of designers
• Salary 40,000 - 50,000 plus depending on experience
• Allocate workloads, set deadlines, monitor progress of design projects
• Hot rolled steel projects
• Working closely with factory and site teams as well as Structural Engineers
• Using Revit, AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, Tekla and StruCad
• Hybrid role, 3 days in office 2 days from home

The Person:

• Strong experience in steel design
• Software experience essential
• Excellent communication skills with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Professional, proactive and solutions-focused approach
• Confident coordinating teams
• Live in commutable distance to Stroud
