We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major bridge and reinforced concrete structures project in Gloucester. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large civil engineering scheme for a leading contractor delivering complex structural works in a live programme environment.
Site Engineer Role & Responsibilities:
- Reinforced concrete elements, formwork and steel reinforcerment
- Supporting delivery of structural works including bridge decks, abutments, piers, and retaining walls in an RC environment
- Managing QA documentation, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), concrete pour records, and as-built surveys
- Interpreting and working from structural and civil engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements
- Coordinating subcontractors and specialist trades, monitoring daily site activities and progress
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme requirements and design intent
- Raising and resolving technical queries (RFIs) with designers and the client team
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards
Site Engineer Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer on bridge or major RC structures projects (essential)
- Strong setting out and surveying experience, including Total Station and GPS equipment
- Civil/structural engineering background with solid knowledge of reinforced concrete construction
- Familiarity with bridge construction methods including formwork, falsework, and bearing installation (advantageous)
- CSCS card (essential)
- Working at Height and Temporary Works awareness (preferred)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
