Red Sky Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure schemes across the UK.

Our client operates across regulated and private sectors including water, transport, energy and the built environment. Role Overview

The Senior Engineer will provide technical leadership across multiple civil engineering projects within the region.

You will be responsible for establishing survey control, overseeing setting out activities, managing quality compliance, and supporting the development of Site Engineers. The role requires strong technical capability combined with leadership and communication skills to ensure safe, accurate and efficient delivery.

Key Duties

  • Establish survey control and oversee detailed setting out

  • Lead on Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Management Plans

  • Ensure works are delivered safely and to specification

  • Deputise for the Site/Sub Agent where required

  • Support procurement through material take-offs

  • Carry out instrumental and quality checks

  • Manage and mentor Site Engineers and trainees

  • Prepare method statements and conduct toolbox talks

  • Coordinate as-built records and project handover documentation

  • Attend design and pre-commencement meetings

Essential Must-Haves

  • Proven setting out experience on civil engineering projects (infrastructure, highways, RC works)

  • Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

  • CSCS Card

  • SMSTS

  • Experience using AutoCAD

  • Strong knowledge of QA processes and record keeping

  • Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision

  • Confident communication skills across client and site teams
