Senior Buyer

Vital are recruiting on behalf of a leading construction and engineering company for a key role in their project delivery team. The company operates across major infrastructure and building projects and is known for its strong safety culture and commitment to innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end procurement of materials/plant
• Develop bid-specific sourcing strategies with tender teams
• Negotiate supplier rates and maintain long-term agreements
• Maximize rebates through framework compliance
• Mentor junior procurement staff and resolve supplier disputes
• Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving innovations

Requirements:

• 7+ years in a procurement function (Minimum 3 years within the construction industry)
• Expertise in COINS ERP and Microsoft Excel
• Degree in Procurement/ Supply Chain/ Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
• CIPS qualification (or actively pursuing)
• Proven record of cost savings and value creation

Additional Information:

• Role may involve occasional travel to project sites or supplier meetings.
• Hybrid working arrangements may be considered following probationary period.
