We are working with a Birmingham-based subcontractor undertaking work on multiple private sector schemes across the West Midlands. We are looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support on a few schemes in the Birmingham area.
Your Day-To-Day Duties:
You will support the commercial team in managing costs, maximising value, and ensuring effective commercial control across the project.
- Producing weekly and monthly cost and value reconciliations
- Capturing, allocating, and reporting costs and liabilities
- Supporting strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Assisting with the preparation of commercial tenders, offers, and contracts
- Identifying and escalating non-compliant or inappropriate costs
- Recording and monitoring insurance claims
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date commercial and contract records
- Capturing and reporting direct labour costs
- Drafting, reviewing, and awarding sub-contracts
The Requirements
- Relevant degree qualification in Quantity Surveying
- Subcontractor experience
- Varied contract experience
- Self-motivated and an ability to work alone
- Ability to take initiative in resolving problems.
- Previous surveying responsibilities
- Ability to us MS Excel
Salary & Package
The rate on offer is negotiable, dependent on an individuals experience.
