Evening cleaner required, MOD- Filton, Monday to Friday, Temp to Perm Your new role We are looking for experienced cleaners to carry out general cleaning duties within the ministry of defence building in Stoke Gifford in Bristol. This will include a good knowledge and understanding of colour coding. Duties will include, hoovering and mopping floors, wiping surfaces, cleaning toilets and showers etc Hours are Monday to Friday, pm -10pm (with the opportunity to do overtime). The Industrial Cleaner will be responsible for the following. * The factory has a problem with dust extraction on the machines and on the shop floor, you will be in charge of cleaning the plant. * This will include wiping down the hand rails, fencing, cleaning out the big conveyor machines of dust and sand. * Working with the maintenance engineers you will attend breakdowns whereby you will clean the dust, brick dust and sand in and around the machines. * You will be required to use the industrial hoovers and on occasion the folk lift to move around pallets and big items. * You will be flagging cleaning issues with maintenance such as the piling up of dust and sand which could potentially cause a machine to break down. * You will be patrolling the factory shop floor cleaning the top of kilns and other machines. * Eventually you will be trained up on sorting pallets, visually inspecting bricks and helping load kiln cars. With 19 manufacturing sites across the UK, this multi-million pound company have been investing heavily across both their production and quarry sites to help meet an ever increasing market demand for construction materials. The site we are working with produces 100 million bricks a year and have a plan to increase that over the next few years… As a result of this increased demand they are looking to recruit two industrial cleaners to make sure the high standards of cleanliness in the plant are maintained. What the Role will involve on a day to day basis: * 80% of the role will be cleaning the factory. This will be done with industrial hoovers, floor cleaning machines, as well as shovels and skips! * The plant is very dusty – this is what you will be cleaning. * Making all parts of the plant are kept clean – from stairwells to machinery to control panels. * Helping the maintenance guys clear up after machinery breakdowns. * Using a counterbalance forklift truck to move skips and industrial hoovers around the plant. * Also helping the general operatives with other roles including visual inspection of bricks, loading pallets and other general tasks. What the client is looking for in the contractor: * FLT counterbalance experience. Your licence doesn’t have to be valid or transferrable – as they are happy to put you on a one day refresher. They won’t, however pay to put you on a full course. * Experience of working in heavy industrial environments, or happy to work in this environment. * Can work on own initiative, walking around, identifying tasks and doing them without having to be told to!
