Role Assistant Landscape Planner
Location South Yorkshire
Salary £30 - £34K
Our client, a leading multidisciplinary design and planning practice is seeking a Landscape Planner to join its South Yorkshire-based team. With a strong emphasis on landscape-led, sustainable placemaking, the practice works across a wide range of sectors and scales, from strategic green infrastructure planning to site-specific masterplanning.
You ll be joining a collaborative group that works on everything from large-scale masterplans and green infrastructure strategies to detailed landscape reports and planning submissions. The studio takes a landscape-led approach to projects, so your ideas and input will be at the heart of shaping how places evolve.
The office is centrally located with excellent transport links. It s easily accessible by train, bus, and major road networks, making commuting straightforward whether coming from within the city or surrounding areas.
WHAT YOU LL BE DOING
- Working on a mix of exciting projects
- Preparing landscape and visual impact assessments (LVIA), planning reports, and environmental inputs
- Collaborating with planners, ecologists, designers, and external consultants
- Getting involved in community consultations and helping explain landscape ideas
- Keeping up to date with planning policy and using it to guide good design
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
- A degree in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline
- Chartered membership of the Landscape Institute (or working towards it)
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within a consultancy or multidisciplinary setting
- Knowledge of UK planning policy, landscape legislation, and environmental assessment processes
- Strong report writing, analytical, and visual communication skills
- Proficient in GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or CAD-based software
- A full UK driving licence
