Job Description

Residential Surveyor

Location: West Midlands (Warwickshire/Birmingham)
Reporting to: Director
Employment Type: Employed, Full Time

About the Role

Our client is an independent, RICS-regulated practice operating across the Midlands. They are expanding their coverage across the West Midlands and are seeking an experienced residential surveyor to join the business.

This is not a high-volume, corporate-style role. They operate a quality-led model with sustainable workloads and structured diary management.

Surveyors work a four-day inspection week, with one protected admin day built in for report writing, follow-up calls, and professional reflection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake RICS Level 2 and Level 3 Home Surveys with some private valuation work
  • Produce clear, well-structured reports with proportionate advice
  • Manage client follow-up discussions professionally
  • Maintain high standards of professional judgement and independence
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment

Work Structure

  • Four-day inspection week
  • One protected admin/reporting day per week
  • Realistic diary volumes (quality over churn)
  • Geographic focus within allocated postcode area

Candidate Profile

Our client is seeking an experienced residential surveyor who:

  • Is AssocRICS / MRICS qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Has experience completing Level 2 and Level 3 surveys
  • Values quality, clarity, and professional standards
  • Is comfortable working independently but open to collaboration
  • Takes pride in well-written, client-focused reports
  • VRS registration desirable but not essential

What They Offer

  • 50-60k Basic + Car Allowance or company EV after probation (BMW i4 or similar)
  • Bonus Structure (not points based)
  • Structured, sustainable workload
  • Protected admin time
  • Flexible, interest-led professional development (including support for specialist training where appropriate)
  • Supportive, limited-headcount team culture
  • Private Healthcare
  • Pension Scheme

They are building a small, connected team, not a volume-driven operation. The right candidate will value autonomy, professionalism, and long-term stability. Their focus is on servicing their clients effectively, whilst providing an environment whereby their surveyors can focus their CPD in areas that align with their interests and long-term career goals.

Next Steps

Initial informal discussion with the Director, followed by a structured interview process.
