A leading utilities and infrastructure contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to act as the commercial lead on utility infrastructure projects. The role is responsible for commercial performance, contract compliance and financial delivery, while promoting a collaborative approach with clients and the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Act as commercial lead across live utility infrastructure projects
Negotiate and agree subcontract terms and conditions
Manage subcontractor and supplier payments
Ensure compliance with contractual rights and obligations
Manage changes under NEC3/NEC4 Option A & C contracts
Assess commercial impact of variations and compensation events
Monitor contract performance, programme and cost risk
Undertake site visits to align commercial control with delivery
Manage project close-out and final accounts
Evaluate budget changes and capture cost variances
Collate defined cost records for audit purposes
Produce monthly CVRs, valuations and earned value analysis
Validate subcontract applications and payment data
Maintain change registers and commercial records
Contribute to monthly commercial reporting
Build and maintain strong client and supply chain relationships
Candidate Profile
Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil or utilities infrastructure
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline
MRICS or MCIOB desirable
Line management experience
Strong commercial, legal and contractual awareness
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting
Background within construction or infrastructure sector
Valid UK driving licence and appropriate CSCS card
