We are seeking an experienced Building Services Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to support planned and reactive maintenance activities within a critical plant environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for PPM delivery, diagnostics, fault finding, and ensuring the reliability of HVAC and associated mechanical systems.
1 month contract
This role requires a competent and self-sufficient engineer capable of working within live environments where plant uptime is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with site schedules
- Reactive maintenance and fault finding on mechanical and HVAC systems
- Diagnostic testing and rectification of plant failures
- Maintenance and servicing of air handling units (AHUs)
- Maintenance and fault finding on chillers
- Working on pumps, motors, valves, pipework and associated mechanical plant
- Monitoring and maintaining critical plant systems to ensure operational continuity
- Completion of service reports and maintenance documentation
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times
Plant and Systems Experience
- HVAC systems
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Chillers
- Pumps and pressurisation units
- Mechanical distribution systems
- BMS interface awareness (desirable)
Requirements
- Proven background in facilities maintenance or building services engineering
- Strong mechanical bias
- Experience within critical plant environments
- Ability to fault find independently and efficiently
- Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
- F-Gas (desirable but not essential depending on scope)
- Good understanding of safe systems of work
