Quantity Surveyor

Job Description:

My client is one of the largest privately owned property companies in the country. Working across multiple locations, they are currently looking to make an addition to their Commercial Property team, in the form of a Quantity Surveyor.

Their commercial team is key to the successful performance of the site developments. Working closely and collaboratively with each department including construction, technical and finance, you will be responsible for the financial management of designated sites / tasks to ensure that the companies targets are achieved by the surveying responsibilities below.

The Role

• Pre-start meetings for the departments to be briefed on the nature of the scheme and any issues affecting it.
• Project manage the working budgets
• New subcontractor meetings to discuss all aspects of their order including programme and issues raised by either party.
• Cost to complete reports
• Interim monthly/quarterly valuations
• Payment of subcontractors/suppliers
• Development meetings on site
• Pricing of clients extras
• Liaison with Site Managers
• Cost feedback to Commercial Director
• Contra-charges (re-charges) against Sub-contractors
• Surveyor Team Meetings
• Close liaison with Development department proving feedback on drawing errors, amends and subcontractor queries.
• Assist in compiling/updating development specifications for new and current sites

The Person

• Previous experience in a QS role within the construction industry
• Relevant qualifications, QS degree or similar
• IT literate, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, COINS
• Clean driving licence
• Good communicator
• Good negotiating skills
• Keen eye for detail

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is up to 60,000 per annum and is dependent on experience, Company car or Allowance, plus fantastic company benefits including ongoing development and support, free onsite parking, generous holiday allowance, Christmas shut down, generous company pension, and more.
