- Leading Specialist Engineering Contractor
- Based full time in central London
Are you an experienced professional with a civil engineering background (project engineer/project management route), looking for a Bid Lead role with a contractor firmly in growth mode? This contractor takes on complex engineering projects excusively in central London: Enabling works, deep basements, intricate cut & carve elements, piling, groundworks, RC works typically with values up to £80m.
As they continue to grow, they re looking for a senior figure with a strong engineering background to lead their bid efforts, shaping the future of the company s project delivery.
Crucially, not just a Bid Coordinator/Manager, an individual who has the experience to be able to input critical technical/engineering content as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Bid Process: Take charge of the entire tender process, managing everything from the initial enquiry through to final submission, ensuring all deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Develop Winning Proposals: Lead the creation of compelling, tailored bids that highlight the company s strengths and differentiate it in competitive markets.
- Coordinate Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the preconstruction, technical, commercial, and operations teams to gather relevant information and ensure that all submissions are complete and accurate.
- Internal Stakeholder Management: Lead internal meetings and liaise with senior stakeholders to ensure all bid requirements are clearly understood and met.
- Maintain and Improve Bid Procedures: Support the Preconstruction Director in refining bid processes, ensuring continuous improvement in efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency.
- Mentor and Develop Bid Team: Provide guidance and leadership to junior members of the bid team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
About You:
- Engineering Background: You have come through an engineering or project management route, ideally with a degree in civil engineering or a related field, and possess strong technical expertise within the construction or civil engineering industry.
- Project Engineer/Manager: you've worked on enginering projects in London and possess a genuine understanding of complex engineering methodology and sequencing
- Attention to Detail and Strategic Thinking: You have an eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in all documentation, while also being able to think strategically to meet client needs and company objectives.
- Proactive and Results-Oriented: You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and are always focused on delivering winning outcomes.
